1.7 Peer Perception

Outline of this lesson:
  • Recall what you learned in ESL111: the difference between editing and peer perception, and what constitutes effective feedback (specific, constructive, polite and honest)
  • Provide feedback on your peer's writing related to how you perceive the main ideas and structure of the paper
  • Negotiate meaning of peer comments and possible revisions/ adjustments through discussion

 Handout: Peer Perception for <YourName> by <YourPartner'sName>
  • Download this document to your computer, and save it to your desktop
  • Rename the document by filling out <YourName> and <YourPartner'sName>
  • Switch seats with your partner

After your partner's peer perception,
  • Upload the document that you received from your partner to Compass2g: assignment -> Unit 1 -> 1.7 Peer Perception
  • Use the suggestions that you received to revise your 1st draft
  • If your partner has written notes on the handout, paste his/her questions/comments at the end of your 1st draft
