1.6.3 Review of APA citation

Outline of this lesson:
  • Recognizing the relationship between reference page citations and in-text citations
  • Use the online resources (e.g. Writer's Help 2.0, etc.) to locate APA citation rules and guidelines. Apply them to identify mistakes in your diagnostic essay citation
  • Write and edit APA reference page citations for different types of sources

A.Warm-up

Video:  Cite a source: how and why you should do it

Discussion questions:
1) What are in-text citations and references? How are they different from each other?
2) How are they related to each other?
3) Why should we have both in-text citations and references in our papers?
4) What are the two places where citation info should appear?
5) What are the two ways of making in-text citations?

  1. And really, all the writers have to understand that book review has be a continuation of a book, not just a separated story.
